Lizard Island is Australia's northern-most island beach resort, located 240 kilometres north of Cairns and 27 kilometres off the coast of North Queensland. The island is a National Park covering 1,013 hectares with 24 sandy beaches and a lagoon. Cairns is the nearest domestic and international airport.

Getting to Cairns: To get to Lizard Island regular flights are available to Cairns from all Australian Capital cities with Qantas and Virgin. Alternatively, Queensland Rail offers two Tilt trains and three Sunlander departures from Brisbane to Cairns.

Lizard Island Transfers depart from East Air terminal, a short drive from Cairns Airport.

Daily scheduled transfers between Cairns and Lizard Island are a short 60 minute scenic flight over the Great Barrier Reef. Private charters can also be arranged.

Check-in: 30 minutes prior to the flight departure.

Connecting times: if arriving from a domestic flight to Cairns a minimum of one hour connection between flights is required. When arriving from an international flight a minimum of two hours is required - this includes domestic travel on an international flight number. These connection times are required in either direction.

Lizard Island can arrange complimentary transfers from the airport to East Air when flight details are provided at time of booking.

Luggage restrictions: passengers are restricted to one suitcase and one small carry-on item of hand luggage each. Soft suitcases are preferable. A limit of 25kg total per person applies, this includes check in and carry-on hand luggage (subject to loading restrictions). Complimentary luggage storage facilities are available.

Please check with the Lizard Island reservations team airline for more information on scenic transfers, including booking, terms and conditions, terminal information, check-in and luggage restrictions.
