Saffire is located mid-way along Tasmania's East Coast, about 2.5 hours drive from the capital Hobart. There is a range of transport options available to Saffire.

Getting There

Saffire is about 2.5 hours' drive from Hobart (195km) although allowing three hours for a comfortable drive is recommended. Travelling from Hobart take the Tasman Highway (A3) to Sorell and continue up the East Coast through Orford and Swansea. Continue north along the Tasman Highway (A3) to the Coles Bay turnoff (C302) to the right. The turnoff is very well signposted, but it can appear quickly. From the turnoff, Saffire is approximately 25km along Coles Bay Road on the right.

To reach Saffire from Launceston (approximately 2.5 hours), take the Midland Highway (A1) to Campbell Town and turn left onto the B34 heading towards Lake Leake. Continue along the B34 to the Tasman Highway (A3). From there turn left, heading north up the coast to the Coles Bay turnoff (C302 - approximately 10 kms). Saffire is on the right about 25km along Coles Bay Road.

Driving at night, especially around dawn and dusk can be hazardous as the wildlife is abundant at those times. Caution should be taken at any time however.

Helicopter, light plane and chauffeur-driven transfers can also be arranged.
