Appellation restaurant, located in Australia’s renowned Barossa Valley, has just received two major awards recognizing the quality of the restaurant’s wine list.

At the annual Wine List of the Year Awards sponsored by Gourmet Traveller WINE magazine and Fine Wine Partners, Appellation was named for the third year in a row as the restaurant with the Best Wine List in South Australia. Australian Gourmet Traveller WINE magazine states “Appellation is home to one of the country’s leading dining experiences.” Appellation was one of only a handful of ’three goblet‘ top tier winners from over 300 restaurants across Australia in this year’s awards.

Additionally, the international Wine Spectator magazine has released its 2010 issue of The World’s Best Wine Lists. For the second year in a row, Appellation’s wine list was accorded an Award of Excellence in this prestigious selection, one of only 17 restaurants in Australia to be featured in this respected publication.

Commenting on this week’s award announcements, Appellation owner Jim Carreker congratulated executive chef Mark McNamara, restaurant manager Peter Healy and sommelier Mathew McNamara for their ongoing efforts in creating an exceptional food and wine pairing experience for Appellation guests.
