Getting There

The Louise and Appellation are conveniently located in the Barossa Valley wine region 75 minutes northeast of the city of Adelaide and the Adelaide airport in South Australia. Most visitors travel to the Barossa from the city and airport by rental car, although car transfer services are readily available in addition to helicopter transfers.

The property is sited at a gentle hilltop in the village of Marananga in the northwestern quadrant of the Barossa Valley, central to the wineries, vineyards and touring activities of this internationally renowned wine region.  The site address is The Louise, corner Seppeltsfield and Stonewell Roads, Marananga, Barossa Valley, South Australia.

Self drive is generally accomplished by picking up a rental car at the Adelaide airport and driving into the city centre (about 10 minutes) and then via a direct route out Main North Road and the A20 highway for approximately an hour to the Barossa.  Alternate scenic driving routings include touring the vineyards and small towns of the Adelaide Hills before continuing onward to the Barossa.

The Louise is within an hour’s drive of Adelaide Airport (ADL), a hub for international and domestic commercially operated flights. Direct commercial flights operate to and from the nation’s main ports Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Darwin and Hobart.

The Louise can arrange a transfer service to meet arriving guests at the domestic or international arrivals hall at the airport, at the general aviation terminal for private flights, at the Keswick train terminal for the Ghan, Indian Pacific or Overlander interstate train services, or at any of the Adelaide city hotels.  This service may be booked one-way or return.

For guests planning to arrive or depart by helicopter, The Louise has a daylight helipad on property.  Transit times from or to Adelaide airport range from 30-60 minutes depending on the amount of scenic touring  preferred.  Helicopter transfers from or to Southern Ocean Lodge are available as well. Please note that baggage size and weight restrictions generally apply for most helicopter carriers.

Barossa Valley
A leisurely hour’s drive northeast (70 kilometres or 37 miles) of South Australia’s capital city Adelaide, the Barossa Valley is recognised around the world as one of the nation’s premier wine regions.
