Silky Oaks Lodge is set in 80 acres of rainforest bordering the World Heritage Listed Daintree National Park and overlooking the beautiful Mossman River.  Fine dining in an ancient rainforest, early morning yoga classes, indulging in the award winning Healing Waters Spa, lazy swims in the billabong or enjoying the stunning forest and river vistas as you relax in a hammock are some of the many options available at the Lodge.  Hiking trails into the Daintree lead to numerous scenic picnic spots as well as gorgeous locations to swim in sparkling waters.

Kuku Yalanji guides take Silky Oaks Lodge guests on exploratory adventures in the rainforest, explaining traditional uses of food and medicine plants, demonstrating hunting techniques and telling both modern and Dreamtime stories of the rainforest.

The Lodge is located in Far North Queensland, a diverse region of  tablelands, lava caves, vast savannahs as well as the Great Barrier Reef and ancient Daintree Rainforest.

There are endless options which can be customised to include the many attractions of the area both near and far.

Unique to Silky Oaks Lodge is its riverside location, lagoon snorkelling, swimming, canoeing and private rainforest walks through pristine surrounds.

Experience Kuku Yalanji Dreamtime stories at nearby Mossman Gorge; take a guided walk through coastal mangroves using traditional hunting methods, or journey by Helicopter from the Lodge helipad to remote coral cays.

Take a River Snorkeling Drift excursion - a scenic rainforest tour down the Mossman River that is both exhilarating and informative.

Listen to Binna as he takes you on his journey exploring Aboriginal art while taking a painting class in his private gallery.

Walk through ancient Fan Palm Galleries in original refugial rainforests at Cooper Creek Wilderness with passionate senior Daintree Rainforest guides.

Take 3 or 5 hour guided hikes both from the lodge itself or further afield exploring mountain trails and waterfalls.

Sail aboard Luxury yachts exploring numerous coral cays and beaches with expert guides for both snorkel and diving or take a larger catamaran out to various outer reef pontoons.

The nearby Daintree River offers a collection of experiences ranging from sightings of saltwater crocodiles to the extraordinary birdlife of the region under the tutelage of Del Richards, the local representative for BIRDS OF AUSTRALIA.

Silky Oaks Lodge has a strong affiliation with the Mossman Gorge Kuku Yalanji People who are the traditional owners of the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area.
