This is an impressive selection of three diverse lodges and destinations reflecting the vibrant colours of Queensland and several unique World Heritage regions. From the brilliant terracotta’s of the outback, the soothing, dense greens of The Daintree rainforest and the intense blues of the ocean and Great Barrier Reef, these three landscapes are seamlessly combined into one very easy to plan itinerary.

From cairns airport take a 45min flight or 3hr private vehicle transfer to crystalbrook lodge.

1 Crystalbrook Lodge Northern Outback, Queensland

Remote…wild…elegant. Hidden in the rugged outback of Northern Queensland, Crystalbrook Lodge is a secret outback mecca catering to only 10 guests. Perched over the spectacular 300 acre Crystalbrook Lake, it is part of the historic 85,000 acre Crystalbrook Station. Home to a staggering array of birdlife and wildlife. Days are typically warm, with clear blue skies, evenings cool and the spectacular outback sunset fades into brilliant starry nights.

A selection of must do’s

  • Visit the historic Crystalbrook Homestead and cattle yards – still the working hub of the property. Enjoy tea and scones on the verandah while you observe the prize Brangus cattle nearby. 
  • Glide along the lake aboard a kayak or an electric boat – perfect for a spot of fishing or bird watching. 
  • Embark on an expedition into Chillagoe, one of the most diverse geological areas of the world to see the extraordinary Mungana Rock Art, limestone caves followed by lunch at the quintessentially Aussie pub.

1 Crystalbrook Lodge Northern Outback, Queensland

2 Silky Oaks Lodge The Daintree, Queensland

Silky Oaks Lodge is located in a stunning riverside location adjoining one of the oldest living rainforests on the planet, the World Heritage listed Daintree National Park. The eco lodge comprises the renowned open sided Treehouse restaurant, contemporary accommodation and the highly lauded Healing Waters Spa.

  • Explore the adjacent World Heritage listed Daintree National Park, one of the oldest living rainforests on the planet.
  • Complimentary mountain bikes – cycle to Mossman Gorge and enjoy a picturesque waterside picnic. Should you run out of steam contact reception and they will collect you and your bike for an easy ride back to the lodge. Do visit the Mossman Gorge Visitor Centre for a trip into the gorge with one of the specially trained indigenous guides.
  • Simply relax and rejuvenate, using the power of water and the tranquility of the surrounding rainforest at the Healing Waters Spa.

2 Silky Oaks Lodge The Daintree, Queensland

3 Lizard Island Great Barrier Reef, Queensland

The Great Barrier Reef stretches some 1200km along the tropical north Queensland coast and is one of the seven wonders of the natural world and a world heritage listed, natural inspiration. Lizard Island is a beautiful, natural, remote island retreat and the northern-most Great Barrier Reef resort. It offers 24 white powdery sand beaches, five star cuisine, indulgent spa treatments and is an outstanding dive and snorkel destination.

  • Sensational snorkeling and diving opportunities. Dive the famous Cod Hole or snorkel straight from the beach to experience magical coral gardens, a giant clam garden and a colourful array of tropical fish.
  • Take a helicopter tour for a birds-eye-view of the Great Barrier Reef. This guided aerial experience provides a powerful insight to this World Heritage wonder.
  • A Motorised Dinghy will allow you to access Lizard’s secluded beaches all around the island. Ask the team to pack you a picnic hamper so you can spend hours exploring and soaking up the remote and romantic island surrounds. You may well be the only people on the beach the entire day.

3 Lizard Island Great Barrier Reef, Queensland

Spicers peak lodge is a 2hr drive from brisbane airport. to travel to crystalbrook lodge, drive 2hrs to brisbane airport, 2hr flight to cairns airport, 45min flight or 3hr private vehicle transfer to crystalbrook lodge.

Located on 8000 acres at the peak of the ridge, with breathtaking views of the World Heritage listed Main Range National Park and Scenic Rim, Spicers Peak Lodge is Queensland’s highest mountain lodge and boasts one of Queensland’s leading restaurants. The standalone Spa Anise, encompasses specially designed treatment rooms and a plunge spa pool on the deck.

  • Arrange for a picnic hamper to be delivered to one of many scenic picnic locations around the 9,000 acre property. A table can be set for guests to arrive at the location, after a bike ride or walk, to chilled champagne, stunning views and nothing to unpack.
  • Star Gazing – In the evenings the magnificence of the Southern sky spreads out all around. Learn about the various constellations from your local guide.
